Alabama Lawyer for Businesses and Individuals
During the past thirty years, I have represented individuals, small businesses and large corporations in business-related legal matters in state and federal courts throughout Alabama. I am admitted to practice in the following courts: all State Courts in Alabama (1978); U.S. District Court, Northern District of Alabama (1979); U.S. District Court, Middle District of Alabama (1986); U.S. District Court, Southern District of Alabama (1987); U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit (1986); U.S. Supreme Court (1990).
Although it is not possible to list every legal matter I have the experience to handle, the pages of this website contain a representative description of the type matters I have successfully handled for clients in the past. Please click on the links below, review their content and call me or send me an email if you or your business have a legal problem or dispute that you have not been able to resolve to your satisfaction:
Business, Commercial, and Contract Law & Litigation
Landlord/Tenant and Real Property Law & Litigation
Labor, Employment and Employee Benefits Law & Litigation
Whether you are facing a lawsuit or an ongoing legal dispute that is about to get beyond your control, I have the background, training and experience necessary to bring the matter to a successful conclusion; but it is important that you act promptly so that immediate steps can be taken to protect your interests. Delay can often hamper the ability of even an experienced lawyer to achieve your objectives.
Miscellaneous Matters for Individuals:
A part of my practice has always been devoted to representing individuals in certain types of disputes. In addition to the matters described elsewhere in this website, I may be able to help you with some of your other legal problems, including the following:
- Disputes arising from wills, trusts, estates and jointly-held property or accounts;
- Document preparation; and
- Life insurance claims, including beneficiary designation issues.
Having practiced law with a large firm for over fifteen years, I have big firm experience, but no longer carry the big firm price tag. Through the years, overhead has been reduced without sacrificing quality, performance or results. If you need an experienced Alabama business litigation lawyer who will diligently and effectively protect your best interests, while also providing greater value than the big firm model, then please call me or send me an email so we can get to work on solving your problem.
Although the largest percentage of my clients are located in Jefferson County (including Birmingham, Bessemer, Homewood, Hoover, Hueytown, McCalla, Mt. Brook and Vestavia Hills) and Shelby County (including Chelsea, Columbiana, Helena, Pelham and Riverchase), Alabama, a considerable number reside elsewhere or have principal offices located across the United States, including California, Florida, Georgia, Michigan, Mississippi, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas and Virginia. Another significant portion of my practice is derived from lawyer referrals, including serving as local counsel for out-of-state litigants and handling matters situated in Alabama for in-house counsel.
