Richard Greer graduated from Vanderbilt University with a B.A. in Economics and then attended Cumberland School of Law of Samford University. Upon graduation, Mr. Greer began practicing law with a firm in Shelby County, Alabama. After approximately three years, he joined a small business law and litigation firm in Birmingham, Jefferson County, Alabama. He left that firm in 1995 when it had approximately 30 lawyers.

Mr. Greer is admitted to practice before the following Courts: the Supreme Court of Alabama; all United States District Courts in Alabama; the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit; and the United States Supreme Court.

Mr. Greer has a long history of serving on various committees of the Birmingham Bar Association; and he is also a current member of the following bar associations:

• American Bar Association: Member of the Litigation Section (Committees: Business Torts; Pretrial Practice & Discovery; Trial Evidence); Labor & Employment Section (Committees: Employee Benefits; Employment Rights & Responsibilities); Forum on the Construction Industry; Tort & Insurance Practice Section (Committees: Business Litigation; Intellectual Property); and General Practice, Solo & Small Firm Division; and
• Alabama State Bar: Member of the Labor & Employment Section; Litigation Section; and Federal Court Practice Section.

Mr. Greer was a charter member of the Vestavia Hills (Alabama) Chamber of Commerce and served for several years on its board of directors and as its legal counsel. During his active years of service to the Chamber, Mr. Greer was named Board Member of the Year and received the President's Award for distinguished performance.

Mr. Greer's interests include: physical fitness; college football and basketball; coaching competitive youth baseball; hiking; building and carpentry; landscape architecture; and travel.

Over the course of his legal career, Mr. Greer has established a track record of finding solutions to difficult legal issues and of competently resolving hotly contested disputes. As the principal of The Greer Law Firm, P.C., Mr. Greer has continued representing individuals and businesses in a wide range of litigation and non-litigation matters.
